The SMD-04 is a miniature, reflective optical incremental encoder head with analog AB and Digital Z (index) outputs. SMD-04 use a 20µ period; combined with interpolation circuit nanometer to submicron resolution is achieved. And SMD-04 low-noise high-precision analog signals maximize accuracy.

A unique led receptor provide wider tolerance to misalignment, YAW, external contamination and humidity. This reduces assembly process workload required for a high-precision encoder, and simultaneously supports miniaturization and high accuracy requirements.
